Analytical Environmental Services (AES), one of the region’s leading environmental consulting firms seeks a Cultural Resources Specialist to work with local Tribal clients. Requirements include: Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or related field. Archaeological fieldwork or GIS experience is a plus. Effective writing, communication, and organizational skills. Analytical Environmental Services (AES) seeks candidates with a BS in fisheries biology, aquatic ecology or related subject to join our rapidly expanding staff in our Sacramento office. Practical knowledge of CEQA/NEPA, ESA compliance, and/or permitting issues are also preferred. The successful candidate will conduct habitat evaluations, perform endangered species surveys, and assist in the preparation of biological assessments, permits and other tasks associated with CEQA/NEPA documentation.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to providing excellent client service. This person will be working closely with clients and regulatory agencies. Prior experience in consulting or regulatory setting is desired, although not mandatory. Some overnight travel is required.
Requires: 5 years experience, preferably with anadromous species, conducting biological assessments, impact analysis, wetland delineations, and/or biological permitting. Position requires experience in field habitat evaluation, NEPA and/or CEQA, 404 permits, SSA or NPDES permitting, and Endangered Species Act compliance. Masters degree or higher in related subject desired. Effective writing and communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent client service are essential.
