Mariposa Fire Station EA Approved
August 29, 2011

A NEPA Environmental Assessment, prepared by AES, was approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the development of a fire station in the Yosemite gateway community of Midpines in Mariposa County, California. The Midpines EA was the last environmental hurdle for three fire station projects in Mariposa County. The three fire stations are being funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), Fire Station Construction Grant Program (SCG) administered by FEMA/DHS. The EA evaluated the potential impacts to biological resources and invasive species, ambient noise, hazardous materials, transportation and circulation, and land use.
