Flowers Vineyard and Winery Project Approved
June 25, 2012

The State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Water Rights, approved a water right for the Flowers Vineyard and Winery located approximately eight miles northwest of the town of Jenner, in Sonoma County, California. AES prepared the CEQA documentation and related technical studies for the project. The applicant requested the diversion of 13 acre-feet per year of water from the South Fork of the Gualala River. Water would be diverted via an existing offset well into two existing off-stream reservoirs. Stored water would be used primarily for irrigation and frost protection of approximately 35 acres of vineyard. Potential environmental issues included in-stream impacts from the water diversion, and impacts to biological and cultural resources. The water rights permit for the project was issued in November 2011.
