AES awarded San Diego Chapter AEP 2012 Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Environmental Resource Document

AEP Sycuan NRP CertificateAES was awarded the San Diego Chapter AEP 2012 Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Environmental Resource Document for the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation (Sycuan) Natural and Cultural Resources Management Plan on October 24, 2012. The environmental resource document, prepared by AES in association with Sycuan in 2011, illustrated the commitment of Sycuan to preserve sensitive natural and cultural resources in San Diego County. Sycuan is the first California Tribe to successfully integrate the biological resources values of the County’s Multiple Species Conservation Plan and the cultural resources preservation values of both Sycuan and Federal Law. The Management Plan established a regulatory process for the Tribe to review future development projects to assure protection of important resources. AES was recognized for developing a new and outstanding environmental approach for a Tribe to address multi-faceted resource management issues on trust lands.
