Spokane Casino Project Approved by BIA

The U.S. Department of the Interior today approved the controversial Spokane West Plains Casino Resort Project. The proposed mixed-use project, located on 145 acres north of Spokane, WA, consists of a casino resort, retail, tribal cultural center, and associated uses. The Governor of Washington must agree with the decision by the federal government before operation of the gaming element of the project can proceed. AES prepared the NEPA Environmental Impact Statement for the project.
