Ascension Heights Residential Subdivision EIR Approved by San Mateo County
February 9, 2016

After a four hour public hearing and 15 years after the initial proposal was submitted to the Planning Department, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved the Ascension Heights Subdivision Project and certified the Environmental Impact Report with a 4 to 1 vote today. AES prepared the EIR for the project on behalf of the County in accordance with the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The Ascension Heights Subdivision Project consists of the subdivision of 6 parcels into 21 lots for the development of 19 single-family residences with the remaining 2 lots maintained as a conservation area. The project site is located within the unincorporated community of San Mateo Highlands within San Mateo County, at the northeast corner of Bel Aire Road and Ascension Drive, east of Interstate 280 and northwest of State Route 92. Key issues addressed by AES within the EIR included a health risk assessment concerning air quality emissions during construction, as well as impacts associated with traffic, water quality, noise, grading and drainage, and aesthetics.
