Davis Family Estates Friesen Vineyard Project Draft EIR
August 21, 2015 Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been prepared to analyze the proposed Davis Family Friesen Vineyard Project, which involves the clearing of timberland and subsequent conversion to vineyard on a project site located approximately two miles northwest of the Town of Angwin in Napa County, California. The Draft EIR was prepared to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) regulations, and Napa County ordinances. The harvest of the timber and subsequent conversion to vineyard would require three separate approvals from both CAL FIRE and Napa County, including a Timber Harvest Plan, Timber Conversion Permit, and Erosion Control Plan. The Draft EIR was prepared to support the approvals of each of these plans, and analyzes impacts to erosion and sedimentation, geologic stability, biological resources, cultural resources, and hydrology.
