Analytical Environmental Services (AES) is a multidisciplinary consulting firm specializing in environmental and engineering services. AES personnel provide the depth of knowledge and practical experience needed to successfully comply with an array of complex regulatory requirements. AES staff members include experts in Cultural Resources, Land Use Planning, Water Resources, Engineering, Air Quality, Biology, Computer Graphics, and Web Design.
AES biological resources unit is comprised of staff who are certified and trained in several specialized fields, such as Fairy Shrimp, California tiger salamanders (CTS), Arborist surveys, Restoration, Wetland Delineations, and SWPPP. The biological staff has broad geographic experience, covering nearly all of the regions of California, including the Sierra Nevada, North Coast Ranges, Central Valley, San Francisco Bay Area, Central and South Coastal regions, and the western Great Basin. AES’s biological resources staff has an in-depth working knowledge of biological standards, guidelines, and regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local level. Many of our projects include consultations and coordination with the Department of Fish and Game (DFG), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). AES also involves coordination with local cities, counties, and regional districts. AES has formed many positive working relationships with tribal governments and state and federal agencies.
AES’s approach to project management is simple but effective. It begins with the assignment of an experienced Project Manager responsible for all aspects of the project. Among other duties, the Project Manager monitors costs, establishes production milestones, and provides quality control oversight. The Project Manager also serves as the primary point of contact between the client and AES, as well as between AES and any subcontractors added to the project team.
Committed to completing projects on schedule and within budget, AES Project Managers practice proactive consultation and understand the benefits of excellent communication. Project Managers keep clients, in-house technical experts, and subcontracted team members well informed at all phases of a project. Such communication allows for early identification of potential problems, thereby allowing for the development of preventive solutions as early as possible in the planning process.
Quality control is integrated and emphasized throughout the life of the project. The Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager coordinate to ensure each section of technical documents are subject to multiple reviews for consistency and technical adequacy. Each complete document is then subject to line editing and a formatting review. A team approach to project management fosters a collective interest in maintaining the highest levels of quality throughout all aspects of the technical documents we produce.
AES is a client-focused environmental consulting company that prides itself on providing a distinguishing level of service. Widespread client satisfaction is perhaps best evidenced by the volume of repeat customers AES enjoys. Superior performance on initial projects with new clients has frequently been rewarded by sole source contracts for larger, more complicated, and very controversial projects. Such routine votes of confidence are the most salient demonstration of our ability to provide the environmental compliance services required for any project.
