AES is typically retained to prepare an Environmental Constraints Analysis to provide an initial screening of potential environmental issues. This is often done as part of a due-diligence process prior to embarking on a major project.

A Constraints Analysis identifies environmental conditions, which may affect future uses of a property for a particular project. It provides a rapid assessment and analysis of the project site addressing the following issues:

Land Use Compatibility, General Plan Consistency, and Williamson Act Status
Biological Resources including wetlands, threatened and endangered species and key habitats
Water, Wastewater Treatment and Public Services
Hydrology, Drainage and Flooding
Cultural Resources
Hazardous Materials
