The AES cultural resources unit is comprised of specialists who meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards for Archaeology, History, and Architectural History. AES’s cultural resources staff has an in-depth working knowledge of cultural resources standards, guidance, and regulatory compliance at the federal, state, and local level including the Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), the California Register of Historic Resources (CRHR), the California Public Resources Code (PRC), the Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), and the Native Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
