WATER RESOURCES EXPERIENCE

Sonoma County Water Agency Equalization Basin Storage Project EIR. AES is preparing an EIR to address the environmental impacts related to an Equalization Storage Basin Project. Sonoma County Water Agency is serving as Lead Agency on behalf of the Russian River County Sanitation District. The project is comprised of a 4.3 million gallon earthen storage basin and appurtenant features, including underground piping and pumps.

City of Hollister Domestic Wastewater System Improvements Project EIR. AES prepared an EIR for the City of Hollister's proposed wastewater treatment and disposal system. The treatment system will be membrane bioreactor (MBR) system that will result in tertiary treated effluent. The disposal system will initially be percolation ponds, but will include a water pipeline that could initiate a regional recycled water program. The EIR is a combined project-level and program-level CEQA review. The programmatic components include other potential disposal sites, and both nearby and distant potential recycled water programs that could be undertaken by other municipalities and agencies.

Brooktrails Spillway Dam Project Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration. AES prepared an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration and related permitting for the Brooktrails Spillway Dam Project. The Brooktrails Township Community Services District operates Lake Emily, which is one of two reservoirs that supply water to Brooktrials residents. The Brooktrails Spillway Dam Project included proposed alterations of the dam to allow Lake Emily to store additional water and increase flexibility in control of dam flow. The project included the installation of a permanent inflatable gate to replace the wooden flashboards currently in operation at the dam.

Boardman Canal and Gold Run Pipeline Improvement Projects Initial Studies/Mitigated Negative Declarations. AES prepared Initial Studies/Mitigated Negative Declarations for pipeline replacement projects near the towns of Gold Run and Dutch Flat in California. Placer County Water Agency operates the pipeline as part of the Agency’s raw water transmission system. The documents were completed in March 2006 <VIEW> and November 2006. <VIEW>

Boardman Canal Environmental Constraints Analysis and Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration. AES prepared a report that analyzed the environmental constraints associated with abandoning a leaking portion of Placer County Water Agency’s Boardman Canal in Auburn, California, and the replacement of the pipeline in an alternate underground location. Five potential alternative pipeline routes were reviewed for this constraints analysis. AES is currently preparing an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the project.

Quail Lake Estates Pipeline Project Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration. AES is preparing an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for a water supply pipeline project near the City of Grass Valley, California. The pipeline would provide treated water to Quail Lake Estates planned residential development. Nevada Irrigation District would operate the pipeline.

Chumash Reservation - Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District Water Supply Pipeline Extension Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration. AES prepared an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration to analyze the potential environmental effects associated with the extension of an existing water pipeline in Santa Barbara County, California. The document was prepared in coordination with the Santa Ynez River Water Conservation District and the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians for the planned pipeline extension located on the Chumash Reservation and within Santa Barbara County road right-of-way.
